A Brief
Bio from
Paulette Napoleone |
I have one daughter Jennifer and two grandsons. Jennifer is busy climbing the corporate ladder in Los Angeles, CA. at Farmer's Insurance along with her husband and great guy Rob. My dad Pete had a massive heart attack at age 57 and my mom (LaVergne) died of a rare tonsil cancer in 1999. My older sister Barbara lives in Santa Barbara, has three boys and is an accountant. My brother Paul lives in Ventura (next to Santa Barbara) and is a foreman on an oil rig offshore - he has two kids, Nicole and Sammy. My sister Tracey, who was 9 yrs. younger lives in Utah, outside of Canyonlands Nat'l. Park & runs a small campground/store.
We only went to Alemany for one year, then Birmingham (what an awakening) for two years, and then when we moved to Santa Barbara, actually Goleta. We finished our senior year at Dos Pueblos High.
I was an avid backpacker for many years and worked in a mountaineering shop. I was some what of a hippie and a vegetarian for a while. I taught nursery school, played every sport I could (skiing, softball, volleyball), and raced motocross in the 1970's. I tried to stay as athletic as I could but all those years finally took its toll on my back and I had to have surgery (my knee had already been done). So the only thing that I can really be decent at is golf and its been a year since I've played due to back, knee problems again.
I became interested in the local history etc. and got involved in country antiques - buying and selling them in a variety of co-ops. I was the assist mgr. of one shop that had over 100 dealers, it was great fun. After about nine years it became too crowded in the area so we bought 5 acres with a 100 year old barn on it and built another house, but downsized. It's beautiful & rural. We have been here since 1992 and then got interested in NASCAR racing and sold mail order collectibles and I traveled back and forth to the east coast following the circuit.
I was baptized a Christian in 1994 in the river here. I soon became the Pastor's Admin. Assist. and it was a fabulous job, I was truly blessed.
I was an instructional assistant in special education classes, mostly with boys in the seriously emotionally disturbed program (lots of anger management), I love the challenge. I have been fortunate enough to have traveled around the U.S. a number of times in a variety of ways, along with Canada. I cruised Tahiti and five of her islands and visited my homeland of Italy two yrs. ago, so I have had a very full life and way too many stories to tell and I thank God for all of them.
I have our class pictures along with my report cards and if I ever see "Maggie" - Sr. Margaret. Ursula, as my mom would say, "I have a bone to pick with her." I also have a 5th grade English book that was signed at graduation. I have photos of the girl scouts and one with the nuns and more memorabilia then you probably care to hear about.

Inspiration For The Day: The People In Our Lives | |
Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return. |
Touch my heart and I'll touch yours With a gentle word or two, For kindness bears the sweetest fruit That makes our dreams come true.
Touch my life with tenderness And fill my cup with love. Share my dreams as I share yours Beyond the stars above. Take my hand as I grow old And lead me when I'm blind. Show me that you really care Good Friends are hard to find. Touch my heart and I'll touch yours A little more each day And then we both find happiness Somewhere along the way. |
